PROJECT DESCRIPTION
HOUSE IN FRIGKILIANIKA
Frigkilianika, Kythira
This single-family residence in Ekali is developed on a sloping site with a distinctive geometry and a predominantly northern orientation. The design takes advantage of the natural terrain, minimizing interventions to the landscape while maintaining a close relationship between the house, the surrounding vegetation, and the site itself.
The residence is organized around two elongated volumes that follow the topography of the plot and create sheltered outdoor spaces at different levels. The main living areas on the ground floor open towards the courtyards, the swimming pool, and the landscaped garden, while the private spaces on the upper floor benefit from natural light, views, and direct access to outdoor terraces.
A guesthouse is integrated into the lower level of the site, forming a natural extension of the main residence.
The architectural composition is based on clear geometric forms and the use of natural materials, including stone, concrete, plaster, and wood, aiming for a subtle and harmonious integration into the natural environment.
