PROJECT DESCRIPTION
TWO-STOREY HOUSE
HOULAKIA, MYKONOS
The study is about a two-storey house with a swimming pool.
The plot lies in area Houlakia in Mykonos island and has a slope.
The main objective was to incorporate the building to the environment without distorting it and adjust it to the local architecture.
Placing the building into the plot, was made taking into account orientation (protection from the north), view and the slope of the ground.
Minimum ground intervention was pursued and stone was used in order to blend with the environment. For same reasons entry was designed on the north side on the first floor.
Living room, kitchen, dining and WC are located in the ground floor. Two bedrooms, bathrooms and storage are on the first floor. Materials used were: white plaster, wooden frames in blue color, pergola from chestnut wood, stoned fences, tiling from local stone and limestone.
