PROJECT DESCRIPTION

CARPO STORE, GOLDEN HALL

Carpo stores combine the sale of freshly baked nuts and dried fruits with freshly grinded coffee and handmade chocolate.
The new Carpo chain store is situated inside the Golden Hall mall and is organized in an area of 56.45 m2. The specific store was the fifth of the chain. This fact, issued the challenge for the creation of a contemporary space with new architectural elements, which will also preserve the identity already obtained from the previous stores.
Due to limited ground space, was taken advantage of the height, offering more dynamic to interior elevations and achieving a better promotion of the store’s elements.
Natural materials and earthy colors were chosen to create a cozy atmosphere and the sense of familiarity. The wooden shelves, the coffee counter with marble and wood, the glass show case for the pans filled with nuts, all were designed for the best organization and display of products. Special care was given to illumination design. Because of the ceilings’ great height, a metal grid was designed that contained the spotlights for the general illumination. Hanging lights were placed in specific spots in order to highlight elements and add a special character.
A vertical sliding frame, along with a fixed wooden bench on its base, are used on the façade of the store, interconnecting the coffee zone with the public space while at the same time defining the entrance, the flow to the inside of the store and the different service zones.
The essential packaging materials (cans, boxes, bags, sacks etc) were used as parts of the scenery and decoration.
